Christmas Tree Farm Photoshoot

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to shoot and style some of our dear friends, the Rectors. I thought it would be fun to do something a bit out of the ordinary, so I decided we would photograph them cutting down their Christmas tree. We had so much fun and laughed throughout the entire shoot. Head over here to see more from our day with Ben and Hillary...

Fall Has Come and Gone.

Knowing that fall is fleeting fast, I wanted to post a few shots that really captured the moments that I will remember most.

Birthdays, friends new and old, parties with people I love, work that really isn't "work" to me, my husband's passion for capturing moments, decorative creations, and in short... our life today. I hope to continue to challenge myself creatively and invest in things that really matter.

Recently, I was asked to create an inspiration board that could direct the look and feel of an up and coming musician in Nashville. I was able to sit down with some visionaries at a local artist development group and listen to how they wanted her persona distinguished among the many other young female musicians in her same genre. They were going for a bohemian, rustic and feminine feel while staying true to who she is as an artist and as a person.

This is what I came up with.

Our Perfect Weekend.

It has been a fun summer settling back into Nashville...  Here are some pictures from our weekend together. We started with a date night which included dinner and the new movie The Help. We spent the next day antiquing, sewing, baking homemade pizza with friends, and eating ice cream from our new favorite creamery. Clark even found an incredible Polaroid Land Camera from the late 1960's that still works! We had so much fun together!

Abby & Chris in Studio

We decided to shoot in two locations for the Abby and Chris's engagement session. Inspired by the paper chains I had worked on during my time at Anthropologie, Brian and I decided that making a paper chain chandelier would be a playful backdrop for this lovely couple.

Abby & Chris at the Farmers Market

A photoshoot at the farmers market? Yes, please! I had a lot of fun working with Abby and Chris a few weeks ago. After hearing about the Jefferson County Farmers Market I knew it would be a great spot for their engagement shoot. Abby, a farmers market regular, enjoys cooking farm to table which made for a beautiful backdrop for these images. Take a look!

Farewell Birmingham

Clark and I recently hosted a cookout at our house for the dear friends that we made in Birmingham. Inspired by the vintage green breadbox that I found at the Southern Living prop sale, I filled it with ice and used it to hold the bottled cokes. (the prop sales are just one of the many perks of working at SL - sad to have  left such a great opportunity!) I also served burgers, salad, cobbler and ice cream for dessert. We put down quilts in the front yard and stayed up late talking, laughing and eating! We will miss our friendships, neighbors and being able to see the A Bryan Photo team on a daily basis. What a great way to end our sweet time in Birmingham - we only wish it could have been longer!

Katie & Michael

I really did have a blast working with Katie and Michael. We were able to capture them in their own environment, which added a natural and effortless feel. The pictures turned out beautifully and I am so glad I was able to style this special day.

Southern Living Weddings

The Southern Living Weddings edition was finally published! We are so excited to be a part of their wedding day collection. Styling my own wedding was a different challenge all together, but I surrounded myself with people to bounce ideas off of and I am so pleased with how everything turned out. I have to thank you, Mom, for being so encouraging and helpful with those hard but crucial decisions. In the end, to have my own wedding published made it all that much sweeter.

Thanks to Bryan and Chase at A Bryan Photo for their beautiful work!
